Colleges just need to get rid of group projects. They're completely unfair. Don't give me this BS about how they prepare you for the real world. In the real world, not everyone gets paid the same and people can be fired if they don't do their job. You can't do that in group projects. It's never a good idea to pair high achieving students with people who don't care.

Here's my vent. I have been assigned a lab partner who at first glance seems very hard working. I was greatful because I thought we would be perfect and would both put in equal efforts. This is our first assignment together and they bailed on it. I now I need to confront them and the prof about this issue. They claimed poor communication and until now has not communicated. I sense attitude coming from the replies I get. I don't know how to deal with this issue. I will be accepting a failing grade tomorrow over this assignment. I am anxious about the remainder of the semester.

I am a returning college student in my late twenties and I have a class with a lot of Freshmans, this is for a lower division course required for my major. The class was recently separated into group projects and my group wanted to share their Instagram info and create a Groupchat there. However, it’s been two days and the group chat had not been created yet. I followed up with the person who added everyone on Instagram and she told me that some of the group members did not accept her Instagram request yet. Im a little stressed about this. How do I communicate the urgency to these people who are a lot younger than me and don’t really seem to care? Since I reached out today, Im going to attempt reaching out to the group in about a day or two to see how it goes before I ask the professor if I can switch to a different group.

Group work makes me hate people so much and wish I could do it all alone. And it's sad, no matter how good your rapport is with your classmates, being in a group will frustrate you because they just aren't that nice to work with. And since I'm sort of a perfectionist and want to produce good quality work in everything it's hard telling someone to make corrections on their part when they don't see the need to even try because iT's jUsT a gRoUp pRoJeCt. *sigh* 😫😫😫

This guy is so so good and so so interesting!

There is this guy member who always ghosts out at the run time of project activities which makes me mad and the whole project burden slowly tends to be on my shoulders. Which SUCKS he is so dumb that he can't even do documentation , does'nt use his mind when needed ugh I feel like I'm in a dark hole dealing with this piece of s**t

I have 16 days for my final and im not sure if I should start studying the first exams or the start with studying the hardest exam

One thing I experienced multiple times is when something along the lines of "Group Cooperation" or "Participation" exists in the rubric for the project; thus, the group score takes a hit just because these certain people happen to be in your group. Your choice is to either let them get away with not doing anything (if they really can't be convinced to help), or lose points if the you complain or otherwise the prof knows about it. Either way, uncooperative person doesn't get a fair punishment (either no punishment at all or everyone else suffers the same loss of points)
